Coordination of International Support

The Office of the Special Adviser has been closely engaged with the Security Council and Member States, the United Nations Country Team, regional organizations including the Gulf Cooperation Council, in addition to the European Union, Friends of Yemen and other international partners.

In implementing the good offices mandate and Security Council resolutions, the Special Adviser leads the United Nations efforts in Yemen, and coordinates assistance from the international community for the transition, in accordance with the Transition Agreement. This includes the provision of financial resources for the Yemen National Dialogue and Constitutional Reform Trust Fund (YNDCRTF), and other initiatives such as the Trust Fund for the South (TFS).

The Special Adviser will continue to coordinate assistance within his mandate to ensure the full implementation of the remaining tasks of the transitional process, including the drafting of a new constitution, and the holding of a referendum and general elections.
